Eastern Kentucky University is committed to continuous improvement and high-quality academic programs. In addition to the University holding regional accreditation through SACS, at most recent count EKU has more than 60 academic programs that have earned accreditation at the programmatic level. Members of the university community, students, parents, legislators, employers, and the public at large recognize the importance of accreditation status of eligible programs as a measure of academic quality and effectiveness.
If you are contemplating the pursuit of programmatic accreditation, or are already accredited and planning for your next review cycle, please note that resources are available in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) to assist with your efforts. OIE staff members have experience working with programmatic accreditation in a wide range of fields, such as Business, Education, Nursing and other Health Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering and Technology, Psychology, Counseling, to name a few.
Among the services that OIE offers for programs seeking accreditation are: document/report preparation and editing, guidance and assistance with assessment of student learning outcomes and administrative/planning objectives, assistance in developing and implementing metrics/measures of program quality, and other services specific to accreditation requirements.
